Palanpur: Mehsana’s Dudhsagar Dairy have hiked milk procurement prices by Rs 25 per kg fat, said Moghji Patel, vice chairman the dairy on Friday.
The hike will come into effect from April 1. “About six lakh milk producers be benefited with this decision. They will get Rs 575 per kg fat from next month instead of current rate of Rs 550 per kg fat.
The six lakh members of the dairy are spread over 16 talukas including two in Gandhinagar, eight in Mehsana and six in Patan. The annual turnover of the dairy is Rs 4,500 crore.
Patel said that currently the dairy was procuring 25 lakh litre milk per day. Last month itself the dairy had increased the milk procurement price by Rs 25.
