Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Government of India, is implementing various schemes for providing subsidies and interest subvention to the farmers to increase milk productivity
Rashtriya Gokul Mission
One of the components of the scheme, Rashtriya Gokul Mission promotes the establishment of a breed multiplication farm on hub and spoke model. Under the scheme, 50 per cent capital subsidy maximum of up to Rs. two crores is available for eligible entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs assisted under the establishment of breed multiplication farms are also eligible for interest subvention under Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund.
Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund
The Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund (DIDF) is being implemented with the objective of enhancing milk productivity by creating and strengthening milk processing, value addition and chilling facilities. Under the scheme, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) raises fund from the market and disburse the loan to dairy cooperatives with 2.5 per cent interest subvention through National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC). Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying provides a 2.5 per cent interest subvention to NABARD.
Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund
Under Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) scheme, 3 per cent interest subvention is made available to eligible beneficiaries availing for the establishment of dairy processing and value addition infrastructure in addition to other components of the scheme.
Support to State Dairy Cooperative & Farmers Producers Organization
Under the Support to State Dairy Cooperative & Farmers Producers Organization (SDCFPO) scheme, one-time support to state dairy cooperatives and FPOs to increase milk productivity, in the form of interest subvention on working capital loan has been introduced from the financial year 2020-21.
Kisan Credit Card
For the first time, the Government of India has extended Kisan Credit Card (KCC) facility to animal husbandry and fisheries farmers for their working capital requirement wherein farmers either individual or joint borrowers, joint liability groups or self-help groups including tenant farmers having owned, rented and or leased sheds are eligible for getting benefits under the scheme
