Rajesh Faldessai is Goa Dairy’s new chairman

Rajesh Faldessai, chairman of the Somnath Dairy Society from Adane, Quepem, took charge as chairman of Goa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, also known as Goa Dairy, for the third term.

During the board’s previous five-year term, over three-and-a half years were under the administrator. The sale of milk and the production of cattle feed

produced by the dairy unit had dipped during this period and the chairman has vowed to bring back the “lost glory” of the dairy. Faldessai said that he will find the cause of the problems that has led to a dip in milk sale and inconsistency in cow feed production. “The dairy belongs to farmers and I will work to protect their welfare,” he said.

Election to Goa Dairy’s board was held on June 19, and the Faldessai-Vithoba Desai panel had won the polls with 9 of 12 seats.

Ulhas Sinari, Vithoba Desai, Vijaykant Gaonkar, Gurudas Parab, Baburao Fatto Dessai, Uday Prabhu, Nitin Prabhugaonkar and Babu Falo are the directors elected through the Faldessai-Desai group
